DevGreenOps: How to Design Sustainable Digital Services

Ben Linders interviewed me. The interview results were transformed into articles for InfoQ. This is the first article to be published. I introduce the concept of DevGreenOps (aka. DevSusOps) as an extension of DevOps that weaves environmental sustainability into every step of the DevOps cycle. I argue that minimalism, transparency, efficiency and awareness are useful pillars, when developing and thinking about sustainable software.

Changing The Climate - How Vienna Is Embracing Greenweb

Embracing GreenWeb practices is a profound challenge currently tackled by the WienIT, which is the digital backbone of the Vienna city utilities company (Wiener Stadtwerke-Gruppe). Software Development Project at Elite Graduate Program Software Engineering

How can software help with the green transformation

The Elite graduate Program Software Engineering is backed by the University of Augsburg, the Technical University of Munich and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich (LMU). The students developed sustainability focused applications from the first idea to a working prototype. They were taught to consider not only the effects of using the software, but also the footprint of the software itself. Additionally, they were given the opportunity to learn more about sustainable leadership.
