Biography
Adam is a Mathematician and Software Engineer fascinated by the ways software impacts the world we live in. He co-founded Root & Branch (https://rootandbranch.io) a software consultancy focussed on delivering software that is built with the environment and society at the heart of its design. He also runs Green Software Brighton (https://www.meetup.com/gsf-brighton/) in the UK, a tech community exploring how our digital products affect society and the environment we live in. Adam is a proud Dad to two young boys: Ike and Alex.

Digital Sustainability Talk
Measuring What Matters & Making Better Decisions
This talk was on the importance of decision making across the whole product develpoment lifceycle and how they influence sustainability impacts. Placing knowledge and data with the humans making those decisions is crucial and this talk presents a concrete example of how we did this on a real world project by setting measurable energy and carbon KPIs from tender to delivery and monitorable after launch.

We host regular events in Brighton, South East, UK - since January 2024. Our community is supported by GSF and Silicon Brighton and our events are inclusive, accessible with all the talks streamed online for free. We also have pizza (vegan/vegetarian) and beers. We usually meet every 3rd Weds of the month at Runway East (with the odd exception)
